    Avec Histoire d'une vie, Aharon Appelfeld nous livre quelques-unes des clés qui permettent d'accéder à son œuvre : souvenirs de la petite enfance à Czernowitz, en Bucovine. Portraits de ses parents, des juifs assimilés, et de ses grands-parents, un couple de paysans dont la spiritualité simple le marque à jamais.
